Another way to look at the Bill of Rights

Many of the Framers or contemporaries of the Framers (inaccurately called Anti-Federalists) were so concerned during the ratification of the Constitution that it (the Constitution) did not limit the national government and that the national government would someday roll the States, they DEMANDED a Bill of Rights.
This Bill of Rights is really quite simple. The Founders were quite clear when they essentially said; "hey, national government and future DC'vers! There are 8 things we want to be EXTREMELY clear you can do NOTHING about as a national government, NOTHING. And EVERYTHING else you're going to want to do beyond your other 30 delegated responsibilities, the 9th and 10th Amendments STOP YOU! Because everything else beyond the 30 delegated responsibilities We the People operating through the States delegated to you are RESERVED TO THE STATES OR THE PEOPLE! To everyone reading this, if you don't understand the 9th and 10th Amendment, you are NOT adherents to the Constitution as ratified. You are either a supporter of federalism, and all its imperfections or you're not. Just as a woman cannot be "sort of pregnant" you cannot be "sort of pro-federalism." It's either or. As for me, I'd rather take my chances with 50 different options (States) vs. living under ONE tyrannical national government that I have absolutely ZERO chance of changing...even with Pastor Santorum (sorry, I had to take the shot)!

The Real Question Of 1860-1865

I was asked to react to an article by my son-in-law Jon…Jon, this is my response.
So, I guess my first response to the article is positive in that he makes good arguments though with flawed assumptions that leads, in my view, to a false conclusion.
For example, early in his post he makes the following assertion: "The legal argument against secession is straight-forward. Beyond the simple fact that most countries don’t provide for their own dissolution at the outset, the Constitution is not silent on the use of force by the federal government." But recovers ground and runs straight into contradictory notions with this from his post: "But to support the Declaration of Independence is to support secession."

TFM Pledge

Here's one thing we want to promise all of our listeners, Facebook friends, and Twitter followers. Our reputation regarding accuracy and integrity is central to us; we will not compromise on this. This is precisely why we believe more and more people are tuning in. Why? Because in this period of tyrannical behavior by an out-of-control national and unconstitutional government, occupied by mostly unprincipled and deceptive elected officials...We the People certainly cannot put our hope and trust in them. This is what inspired The Forgotten Men show...principles over politics. We detest status quo politics!
That said, let me reiterate our pledge. In issues about historical facts about the Founders, Framers, Ratifiers and other historic characters, we will NEVER knowingly or intentionally distort them into figures they are not. They were just humans, just like us. They were DEFINITELY better studied people than most of us, but they we're not super-human.
