Courage...the antidote to fear

Admit it...you're afraid; we're all afraid!

We're afraid of the government

We're afraid of the future

We're afraid of the economy collpasing

We're afraid! As we should be.

The so-called federal government is completely out-of-control, it seeks more and more power, more and more control over you and me. And we all know, there's nothing to stop them. Sure, many people are trying to take solace in the idea that a Romney win will somehow "slow things down." But already, buyers remorse is setting in as Romney on the campaign seems to be everything we in the liberty movement said he was; a "little" less anti-liberty than Obama. But make no mistake about it, he is PRO-BIG GOVERNMENT. He wants to manage the national economy and control behavior, just a little bit different than Obama.

And so, our fear of government is not assuaged by a Romney win. In fact, it's even a bit worse than that. Most who will vote for Romney will now be saddled with defending him when he does nothing to ratchet back government influence in our lives. Sure, he may lower a tax or two, but if you consider that to be the be all end all "slowing government down," then you really don't understand how bad things are. Senator Paul had a chance to hear how many times the so-called free people are being surveilled and his answer was "gazillions!" Sadly, most conservatives will attempt to calm their fears about this by telling themselves; "well, if you're not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to fear about the government!" Do you have any idea how much the government knows about you? Probably not. They know where you work, where you live, how much you make, what your political ideology is, how you spend your money, where you travel, and the list goes on and on. Most will say upon reading this...so what? And if that was you're instinct when you read this...you my friend are as big a part of the problem as the DC'vers are who seek to control you. You are the one who will line up when told to do so; study your history. You will eventually bow at the alter of a government and you will then look back at your careless view of government power...but it will be to late. You will be faced with much more draconian decisions about your "new normal."

How about regulations; they're choking the life out of you and most don't even know it. As a former business owner, I do! The regulatory structure in the Union controls much of what you do and the costs you pay for goods and services. Want lower prices...destroy the regulatory system.

We're afraid...and we should be.

The reality is, the ONLY solution to fear is COURAGE! Do you have any?

Do you have the courage to challenge ALL of your assumptions about your understanding of the relationship a government should have with the true soverigns...just as I did? If you don't, then you are VERY vulnerable to the Anybody But Obama strategy and someday, when it's too late, you will submit to an all powerful national government. History is chocked full of a morally weakened people rolling over a submitting.

Do you have the courage, while there's still time, to actually involve yourself in real solutions vs. the silly sophomoric solutions from your favorite national candidate? We don't have much time mind you, but we have a tiny little window. Will you jettison the time and money you spend on getting "your guy" into federal government and redirect it to a State or State Based Solution organization? Will you try to identify States that are actually considering a "last stand" of sorts against the so-called federal government? Or will you just be used as a pawn by the RNC to advance their agenda...I can assure you, their agenda is NOT the same as yours!

Courage is hard, I understand that. It takes a change in thinking and then actual work beyond reading the Drudge Report, listening to talk radio, or putting a Romney or Obama yard sign in your yard. THAT IS NOT COURAGEOUS! That is status quo thinking and behaviour and if that's you, you're as big a part of the problem as the DC'vers.

No, courage actually results in a break from the status quo. The founding generation was courageous, they refused to suspend what they clearly saw as tyranny...they embraced where they were and began to develop a solution that led to the Declaration of Independence! Will you declare independence from the status quo!?

If you live in a State that desires to be controlled by the national government, then find a State organization that is active in a state that will stand up to the so-called federal government and send them money. These COURAGEOUS people are actually doing something beyond yard signs. They're grassroots organizers, working tirelessly to compel their State to stand up.

If you live in a crappy State, pick up and relocate to a better one...I did and I know others who did as well. As a family, my wife and I have decided to become much more mobile, able to move around the Union to places where the Liberty Movement is beginning to gain traction. Has this changed our lifestyle? Of course it has. Are we living differently than we did a few months ago...yes! Is it worth it...at this point, I can only say I hope so. But what I can say, is that I had the courage of my convictions; my wife and I actually acted on what we believe. No Romney yard signs in my front yard...nope, we sport The Tenth Amendment Center's "Life Time Membership" plaque on my wall. People like Michael Boldin, President of the Tenth Amendment Center along with volunteers like Mike Maharrey are courageous people. Most have no idea how "close to the bone" Michael lives personally to continue the efforts he does. Both of these men are hero's to me. Or people like Joshua Lyons, my co-host. For three years, Joshua as given up his Saturdays with his boys to come in the studio and make sure a great pro-liberty show is broadcast for the benefit of those who are willing to challenge their assumptions. I've personally observed him open his wallet to support true State Based Solutions and he's spent hundreds and hundreds or hours studying so he can be an expert on all issues related to liberty. Joshua is my hero.

Scott Strzelczyk is my hero and a man of courage. Like all of us who are engaged in the real battle at the State level, he took the initial step of courage and began to challenge all of the assumptions he believed about the so-called federal government. But not only did he challenge his assumptions, he started to get involved engaging the status quo thinking at the State level. He attends meetings now, speaks at them and invariably leaves a meeting with new converts or at a minimum, has challenged the status quo thinking of many of the attendees.

I always hesitate starting a list like this because invariably, I leave someone out, but in my travels over the last 3 years, I've had the benefit of engaging hundreds of people who are fully engaged in Team Liberty. People like Joe and Mary Hagerty, Joe Beeman, Sheriff Chuck Jenkins, Mike Church, Tom Woods, Kevin Gutzman, Don Livingston and many, many others. People who are making a real difference.

Sadly, I've also run into too many people who cannot get themselves out of status quo thinking. I truly do feel for these people who simply cannot begin step one; challenge their assumptions. The population has been trained, just as I had been, to think in only one way. And until they muster the courage to jettison a false history about the Union and our liberty, they will not be part of any real solutions and are more likely to just add another bolt to the shackles they already wear. And sadly, some of these status quo thinkers have unknowingly, in most cases, become obstacles to Team Liberty. They shout at those of us who are offering real solutions; tell us we just don't get it. But I understand this sentiment, it's sad nevertheless.

I know it sounds tough what I just wrote...but it's time for honest conversation and discussion...not timid "please like me and listen to my radio show" talk.

We're probably going down as a Republic, I'm not sure we have enough time to orchestrate a real movement that will defy the DC'vers. But I know I'll be able to say I did not participate in its the demise because I went with the status quo. No, I acted on what I believe to be happening. I'm not relying on the impossible, that somehow Washington DC can fix Washington DC. Nope, it's time for real solutions:

  1. Nullification
  2. An Article V Amendment Convention
  3. Sheriff Interposition
  4. Secession
These are all State Based solutions, and baring Divine Intervention...our ONLY solutions. Get on-board and support these hard solutions, not the easy yard sign, bumper sticker, cast your vote non-solutions.

Challenge all of your assumptions folks...we've all been fed a line about history!

  1. I'll take it a step further; we are definitely going down as a Republic. History has proven this cycle to be redundant without fail.

Some citizens may not want to talk about secession, but once the fiscal collapse we are destined to endure occurs, EVERY State will be forced to manage their own affairs. Secession will be forced on them.
  2. To find COURAGE we must have FAITH. Not just Faith in our leaders but Faith in ourselves and what we believe. We must stand on principles and values that demand respect., to set us apart from the status-quo. Our FAITH gives us COURAGE to stand against that status-quo, the tyrants who will sell our soles for a dollar or the next term in office. It is our moral duty to stand and fight for ourselves and the future generations to preserve Liberty and Freedom ! ! !
